Omari Kellyman has been recognised for his exploits in February with a nomination for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

The 17-year-old came to the fore with strong displays in Aston Villa Under-21’s three league matches in February.

Kellyman scored against Stoke City in a 1-0 win to kick-off the month before he netted at Elland Road in a 2-1 loss to Leeds United.

Aston Villa Under-21s played Leeds United at Elland Road on Monday night.

He rounded off February with a goal and two assists in the exhilarating 6-4 victory against Sunderland.

Kellyman is up against Carlo Borges (Manchester City), Omari Forson (Manchester United), Harry Gardiner (Sunderland), Alfie Gilchrist (Chelsea), Divin Mubama (West Ham United), Romaine Mundle (Tottenham Hotspur) and Oliver Tipton (Wolverhampton Wanderers).

The winner will be announced on Friday, March 10 at 10am.
