Carla Ward believes Aston Villa Women are achieving their aim of being an exciting team to watch.
The Villans head into Sunday’s clash against Leicester City at Villa Park in superb form having amassed a seven-game unbeaten run.
Their recent results have served to further highlight the improvements made this term, with the team sitting fifth in the Women’s Super League having scored 14 more goals than they managed last season.

“We knew in the summer that we needed to score more goals,” Ward said.
“Bringing in the likes of Kenza Dali, Jordan Nobbs, Kirsty Hanson, Rachel Daly, all of those players have contributed. It’s a collective team effort.
“There have been assists and goals from our back four; we’ve got two ‘keepers that have been in unbelievable form all season.
“We’ve tried to play in a different way this season that’s been exciting. I said in pre-season that we wanted to be an exciting team to watch and play in and I think we’re achieving that.
“We’re an exciting team right now.”
Villa are yet to lose in the WSL this year, winning four of their six games and scoring 14 goals.

Sunday’s opponents Leicester come into the game bottom of the table, but Ward believes the Foxes have enough to stay in the division and is expecting a tough game.
She said: “They’re a massive threat. I’ve been in a dogfight myself at Blues and when you’re in that you have to do everything you can to get as many points as possible.
“It’s going to be a really, really tough weekend. Leicester have picked up, they’re making it difficult for teams.
“It’s not going to be an easy afternoon at all. Just because we’re in good form and they’re bottom of the league means absolutely nothing.
“There are seven games to go. They need points, and it’s going to be huge.
“We have to be at our best to take all three points.”
