Douglas Luiz was named Aston Villa 2022/23 Supporters’ Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season at the club’s End of Season Awards Dinner.

The 25-year-old collected both accolades during a prestigious ceremony in Villa Park’s iconic Holte Suite on Tuesday night.

Staff and players from Villa's men’s and women’s teams as well as the club’s Academy joined supporters, partners and host Michelle Owen in celebrating the highlights of the current campaign.

Luiz scooped the awards double on the back of a stellar season in claret and blue, featuring in all but one game during the current campaign.

The Brazilian has recorded career-bests in goals and assists, scoring six and assisting six in 39 appearances.

And Luiz’s form earned him recognition from the club’s supporters and his peers on Tuesday night.

Goal of the Season went to Bertrand Traoré for his stunning strike against Leicester City.

The Burkina Faso international came off the bench when Villa visited the Foxes in April, making an instant impact and bagging the winner in a 2-1 win.

When the ball fell to him outside of the box, Traoré curled a first-time shot over the goalkeeper.

And the club’s fans voted the goal as their favourite from a selection of ten strikes across the season.
