Ezri Konsa reflected on a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest but insisted “we can’t let this affect us”.
Goals at the start of either half from Ola Aina and Orel Mangala did the damage as Aston Villa fell to only their third Premier League loss of the season.
The City Ground reverse ended a six-match unbeaten run, and Konsa, admitting the result was frustrating, said Villa need to bounce back quickly.
Reflecting on defeat to The Reds, the defender told VillaTV: “Very disappointing.
“We’ve been doing well, we can’t let this affect us. But, as you can see, there’s still a lot of things we can improve on.
“Things didn’t go our way here, they had two chances that I can remember, they took both of them.
“In the Premier League, that’s all it takes sometimes, two chances. And if you don’t take yours then you get punished for it.”

Unai Emery’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways when AZ Alkmaar visit Villa Park in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.
And centre-back Konsa says there will be hard work at Bodymoor Heath this week to see where the Villans can step up.
“We can’t let this affect us, we’ve been doing really well,” he added.
“We’ve got an important game on Thursday, we’ll focus on that and we’ll also go back into the training ground and see what we can improve upon.”
