The Aston Villa captain netted from the penalty spot and also bagged an assist as the Scots drew 3-3 with Norway at Hampden Park.
The draw meant Scotland finished second in Group A behind Pau Torres’ Spain, with both sides heading to the finals next summer.
Youri Tielemans also tasted victory as Belgium thrashed Azerbaijan 5-0.
The midfielder came on at half-time to help his country top Group F.
Robin Olsen kept a clean sheet as Sweden ended their qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win against Estonia.
The Swedes will miss out on the finals, however, after finishing third in Group F.
