Meet Colton Cook, an Aston Villa fan with a big passion for football.

Colton, aged nine from Witton, lives just minutes away from Villa Park and hears the roars of the stadium on a match day from his back garden. Despite living so close, Colton had never visited the stadium, let alone attended a game.

In February 2023, Colton began suffering with severe earache and discovered a lump behind his ear. Colton was rushed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where he was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer which has resulted in an inoperable brain tumour.

Staff from the Aston Villa Foundation heard of Colton’s story, and wanted to make sure he had a day to remember, inviting him to Villa Park for a private tour of the stadium and surprised him pitchside with a mascot experience for the West Ham game on Sunday, October 22, providing him with memories he will never forget.

You can see Colton’s reaction here…

Colton’s favourite Aston Villa players are Douglas Luiz, John McGinn, and Leon Bailey, and having had the opportunity to meet the players prior to the game, Colton had the opportunity to walk onto the Villa Park pitch with Luiz by his side.

And what a game it was…
