Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martínez has been nominated for the 2023 Ballon d'Or and once again shortlisted for the prestigious Yashin Trophy.
The World Cup winner with Argentina has been recognised by France Football and named among 30 players in contention for the highly-respected Ballon d’Or honour.
Martínez, who helped lead his country to glory in Qatar, is named on the shortlist for the award for the first time and is one of only three 'keepers included.
He has also been nominated for the 2023 Yashin Trophy which recognises the best stoppers in world football.
Martínez, who was also shortlisted in 2021, faces competition from Mike Maignan (AC Milan), Ederson (Manchester City), Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal), Andre Onana (Manchester United), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid), Yassine Bounou (Al Hilal), Brice Samba (RC Lens), Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Barcelona) and Dominik Livakovic (Fenerbahce).
Martínez previously won The Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper Award and World Cup Golden Glove Award in 2022.
The winners of the 2023 Ballon d'Or and Yashin Trophy will be announced on October 30.
