Unai Emery dedicated Aston Villa’s ruthless 6-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion to the club’s supporters.
Ollie Watkins netted a hat-trick against the Seagulls, becoming the first Villa player to score more than one treble in a season since Andy Gray in 1976/77, earning the high praise of Emery.
Jacob Ramsey added a late fifth, after Pervis Estupinan’s own goal, before Douglas Luiz made it 6-1 in added time – again writing his name into Villa history as the first player to score in five consecutive home league games since Dwight Yorke in 1996.
It was a sensational way for rampant Villa to record a 10th successive Premier League win at Villa Park for the first time in 40 years.
And head coach Emery immediately hailed the club’s fans when speaking to VillaTV post-match.

“I am very happy for our supporters,” he said.
“After we lost at home here on Wednesday, we reacted very well and we connected with them and I think we are feeling very good here.
“We are feeling strong here with the supporters, we are connected with them, they are trying to help us and connect with us.
“We are trying to play for them and trying to keep our style, our idea of playing with energy, trying to get control of the game, trying to be good in the high press like we were playing against Brighton as they were demanding it.
“I’m really very happy because with those three points we are now level on 15 points with Brighton.
“And because we played against a very good team, we really deserved it and we can be happy.
“But still being demanding for the next matches and, of course, we are going to analyse, trying to keep the balance ourselves as well with the matches we are playing.”
