Unai Emery is likely to have an unchanged squad at his disposal for Tuesday’s visit of Newcastle United.

Midfielder Jacob Ramsey, who has missed the last two matches, is doubtful for the visit of the Magpies, with Aston Villa unable to welcome back any other injured players ahead of the encounter.

Pau Torres, Lucas Digne and Jhon Durán remain sidelined, joining long-term absentees Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendía.

Bertrand Traoré remains at the Africa Cup of Nations with Burkina Faso as they prepare for their Round of 16 tie against Mali.

Speaking at Monday’s pre-match media conference, head coach Emery provided a fitness update for his squad.

“Pau Torres is out, Lucas Digne is out and Jacob Ramsey is doubtful,” said the Spaniard.

“Bertrand Traoré is still with his national team, while Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendía are still out.

“Robin Olsen is ready and available, Jhon Durán is also out.”
