Ross Barkley has enjoyed a stellar career that is set to begin its next chapter at Aston Villa.
The midfielder returns to the club for a second spell following a season-long loan during the 2020/21 campaign.
Barkley has won major silverware, played at a World Cup and racked up over 400 appearances since breaking through at Everton in 2011.

Pulling the strings in Luton's midfield, he returned to Villa Park last season. Barkley was a revelation for the Hatters, scoring five times and racking up six assists in 37 games. After coming through the ranks at his boyhood team, Barkley made his senior debut in a Premier League game against QPR in August 2011. Shortly after making his Everton debut, the midfielder gained experience on loan at Sheffield Wednesday. A first goal for Everton arrived on the opening day of the 2013/14 campaign against Norwich City at Carrow Road. Barkley made his England debut at Wembley in August 2013, replacing Jack Wilshere versus Moldova. Barkley bagged a goal and an assist against San Marino in May 2015 as England ran out 6-0 winners. Barkley was part of England's 2014 World Cup squad, playing in all three group games and starting their final one against Costa Rica. Seen here chatting to Harry Kane, the midfielder was part of the Three Lions' Euro 2016 squad but was an unused sub in all four matches. After rounding the goalkeeper, Barkley famously took the time to celebrate before tapping home a goal against Bournemouth. Barkley scored 27 goals and provided 25 assists in 179 games for The Toffees. The boyhood Evertonian left the club in January 2018 to join Chelsea. Barkley made his Chelsea debut against Arsenal later that month in a Carabao Cup semi-final tie. The sweet taste of success was captured by the Englishman when he helped Chelsea win the Europa League in 2019. The last of his six goals for England came against Bulgaria in 2019, when he scored a brace and grabbed an assist in a 6-0 victory. Villa signed Barkley on loan from Chelsea in September 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Barkley didn't get to experience a full Villa Park. Barkley netted his penalty in the 2022 FA Cup final, one of three he experienced at Chelsea. Barkley left Chelsea having made 100 appearances for the Blues, scoring 12 goals and assisting 11. A one-year stay at Nice saw Barkley test himself abroad for the first time. Barkley made 28 appearances for the French side, scoring the last of his four goals away at Montpellier.
