The Villans dominated proceedings and had chances to take the win but were ultimately rewarded with a point for a disciplined defensive showing.
Robert de Pauw made three changes to his side that lost to Liverpool last weekend as he brought Sarah Mayling, Lucy Staniforth and Chasity Grant into the side as he reverted back to a familiar shape.

Villa started the game on the front foot and Jordan Nobbs teed up their first real chance in front of goal on the 15th minute. The side broke forward with urgency and a passed was rolled through to Nobbs but her swinging first-time shot was well saved.
Nobbs tried her luck again seven minutes later as she smashed a volley goal wards from inside the box, but Phallon Tullis-Joyce did superbly well to push the effort over the goal.
Villa continued to dominate the first half and came agonisingly close to taking a deserved lead heading into the break.
Grant did well to win the ball back inside the final third before whipping a cross deep into the box for Gabi Nunes to neatly flick towards goal, but a great save denied her.

The home side came out with a new sense of urgency in the second half as they knew they had to improve their game if they wanted to earn something from the fixture.
Ella Toone tested Sabrina D’Angelo on the 72nd minute as she teed up United’s first shot on target. Geyse did well to create some space inside the final before picking out Toone with a pass, but her first time shot was saved.
Substitute Paula Tomàs injected a fresh energy into the tie, and she skipped past Maya Le Tissier with ease minutes later before drilling a strong cross deep into the box searching for Katie Robinson but Gabby George did brilliantly well to beat her to the ball to make a crucial clearance.
Villa continued to remain tight and composed at the back, as 10 minutes was added onto the fixture, to ensure they head home with a point.
