Villa cruise to sixth straight victory

Aston Villa cruised to a sixth successive victory on Wednesday evening, winning 3-0 against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium. 

Unai Emery's side made the long trip south aiming to win back-to-back away Premier League games for the first time since August 31, having made a winning return to action following the international break with a 3-0 FA Cup win at Preston on Sunday. 

And after a goalless opening period in Sussex, Villa wasted no time in establishing their superiority after the break. Marcus Rashford made it three goals in two games, Marco Asensio notched his eighth in claret and blue and fellow January arrival Donyell Malen grabbed his first goal for the club in stoppage time to ensure Villa moved within three points of the top four.
