Donyell Malen spoke of his delight after his second goal in as many games helped fire Aston Villa to a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.
The Netherlands international converted a cross from compatriot Ian Maatsen to double Villa’s advantage just 138 seconds after Morgan Rogers had made the breakthrough.
Forest substitute Jota Silva reduced the deficit after the break, but the Villans claimed all three points from a thoroughly entertaining and high-quality encounter.
For Malen, it came just three days after his angled low strike capped off a superb 3-0 success at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Speaking to VillaTV post-match, he said: “Of course, if you’re coming new to a club, you want to get your goals in as soon as possible.
“I had to wait a few weeks, a few games, try to stay patient and train hard.
“I’m happy I could help.”

The hard-fought triumph over The Reds made it seven successive victories in all competitions for Unai Emery’s side.
Three points moved the Villans up to sixth place in the Premier League standings, level with fifth-placed Manchester City.
And Malen was fully aware of the significance of the Villa Park victory.
“I think we all knew it was very important,” he added.
“They’re a good team, a bit awkward to play against so we’re quite satisfied we got the win.”
