Unai Emery made eight changes to his starting line-up for Aston Villa’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Villa manager, having rotated his ranks for Saturday’s Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest, returned to the same XI who started the club’s 3-0 triumph at Brighton & Hove Albion last Wednesday.

That meant recalls for Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres, Lucas Digne, Boubacar Kamara, Jacob Ramsey, John McGinn and Marcus Rashford.

Emi Martínez, Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers made up the remainder of the side for the clash against PSG at the Parc des Princes.

Marco Asensio, loan from the French club, started among the substitutes, alongside fit-again midfielder Ross Barkley, while there was also a maiden appearance in Villa’s Champions League squad for teenage goalkeeper Sam Proctor.
