Aston Villa will be without John McGinn, Ross Barkley, Pau Torres and Diego Carlos for Wednesday’s trip to Everton, but welcome back Jhon Durán from suspension and hope to have Emi Martínez available.
Captain McGinn was forced out of the club’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City, while fellow midfielder Barkley hobbled off in last Friday’s FA Cup success over West Ham United.
Villa’s Premier League clash at Goodison Park comes too soon for the pair, as well as defender Carlos as he continues to nurse a small injury.
Torres, meanwhile, faces a longer spell on the sidelines due to his broken metatarsal.
However, Martínez has returned to training and is expected to be okay having not featured against the Hammers.
Striker Durán also returns to the club’s matchday squad to face the Toffees having completed his three-match ban.

Manager Unai Emery provided a fitness update at Tuesday afternoon’s media conference.
“Pau Torres, John McGinn and Ross Barkley are not available for tomorrow,” he said.
“They have different injuries and different times for them to start training with us again, but not yet.
“Ross is, more or less, 2-3 weeks more, McGinn will need one week minimum to be close with us, training and being available to play.
“Pau Torres is longer, maybe he needs another 6-8 weeks more.”
