John McGinn has resumed training with his team-mates ahead of Aston Villa’s Premier League clash against West Ham United.
The Villa captain has been absent for the last four matches having been withdrawn in the first half of our 2-1 victory over Leicester City.
Fellow midfielder Amadou Onana, however, is still training alone as he steps up his return to full fitness.
Onana misses out against the Hammers at Villa Park on Sunday, as do Ross Barkley and Pau Torres as they continue their recoveries.
Speaking at Friday afternoon’s pre-match media conference, Unai Emery provided the latest fitness update.
“John McGinn is starting to train with the group, he’s working with us,” said the Villa manager.
“Onana is still working alone.
“Ross Barkley is still not available and Pau will need more time to try to be close with us.”
