Sil Swinkels scored his second goal for loan club Bristol Rovers over the weekend, in the Gas’ 3-2 defeat at home to Rotherham United.

Making his first start for the League One outfit, the Dutch defender nodded Luke Thomas’ ball into the box home at the far post to restore parity for a second time at The Memorial Ground.

Ruel Sotiriou had cancelled out Sam Nombe’s early opener for Rotherham, before Zak Jules put the Yorkshire side back ahead, only for Swinkels to notch with 18 minutes to play.

But the game would end sourly for Iñigo Calderón’s side, as Nombe struck again two minutes into injury time to condemn Rovers to defeat, leaving them fifth bottom of the League One standings. Lino Sousa also started and played 61 minutes for the hosts.
