Marco Asensio spoke of his delight after inspiring Aston Villa to a 3-0 victory over Club Brugge in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie at Villa Park.
Asensio was introduced from the bench at half-time with the score at 0-0, and needed just 16 minutes to make a match-winning impact, as another two goals took his tally for Villa to seven in just eight matches.
The Spaniard lauded another incredible atmosphere in B6, and was pleased to be able to treat Villa’s supporters to another memorable European night.

He said: “We are very happy for the victory. We are in the quarter-finals, and that was the objective.
“Very happy for the team, for the fans, and we continue.”
Touching on the atmosphere, Asensio added: Incredible. Every match we play here, the atmosphere is top.
“We have to be grateful with the fans. They are great support for us, and we are really happy.
“We want more, so now we have a little break, and to think on the upcoming objectives.”
Having scored six of his seven goals in claret and blue at Villa Park’s Holte End, Asensio discussed how special the feeling of hitting the net for Villa is.
The PSG loanee believes he is adapting well to life in England, and is looking forward to a mouth-watering clash with his parent club in the last eight.

Speaking on scoring at The Holte End, the 29-year-old continued: “I like to score there. I am very motivated, so very happy also for the goals, for the contributions.
“We are still adapting, all the new players, but I think that we are in the right way, and keep pushing.
“I am very comfortable, very happy with the teammates, with the fans, with the city, so keep continuing.
“I’m thinking about the night, today, very happy for the victory. In one or two weeks, we have time to think about this (PSG) game.
“Now, we are in the next round. We know that every game is different, so we have to prepare and to do our maximum.”
