Samuel Iling-Jr registered two assists for loan club Middlesbrough over the weekend, helping his side to a crucial 2-1 victory over Oxford United in the Championship.

Boro fell behind at the Riverside Stadium to Gary Rowett’s outfit on Saturday afternoon, but spun the tie on its head to move level on points with West Bromwich Albion in the play-off places.

And the England Under-21 international, who signed for the Teeside outfit for the remainder of the season in January, again impressed at left-back, setting up both Kelechi Iheanacho and Neto Borges.

Just three minutes into the second period, Iling-Jr swung a pinpoint ball into the box for Iheanacho, before neatly exchanging passes with Aidan Morris 10 minutes from time, and finding Borges in the centre to flick home.

Elsewhere in the EFL, Tommi O’Reilly and Kobei Moore faced off against one another, as MK Dons fell to a 4-2 defeat at home to Fleetwood Town in League Two. O’Reilly was introduced for the final half hour at Stadium MK, while Moore played four minutes as a substitute.

And the other game in the division concerning Villa loan players saw Filip Marschall and Rico Richards face one another. The goalkeeper played 90 minutes for Crewe Alexandra who fell 1-0 at home to Port Vale, for whom Richards played 19 minutes as a substitute.

In League One, there were 90 minutes each for Sil Swinkels and Josh Feeney. Bristol Rovers lost 2-1 at home to Mansfield Town, while Shrewsbury Town fell 4-1 at Birmingham City.

Kobei Moore

In Germany, Kosta Nedeljković came on with 26 minutes remaining of RB Leipzig’s 1-0 defeat at Borussia Mönchengladbach. On Friday night, Emi Buendía played the final few minutes of Bayer Leverkusen’s 3-1 win over Bochum.

Both Kadan Young and Àlex Moreno were unused substitutes for Royal Antwerp and Nottingham Forest respectively, though in Spain, James Wright kept a clean sheet for Real Unión, who were held to a 0-0 draw by FC Andorra.

Enzo Barrenechea

On Sunday, Enzo Barrenechea again played 90 minutes and impressed for Valencia, who recorded a 1-0 victory over Real Mallorca at the Mestalla. 

There was also 90 minutes for Leander Dendoncker in Anderlecht colours, as Paars-wit fell to a 2-0 defeat at Club Brugge in the Belgian Pro League Championship Play-Offs. 

And in Brazil overnight, Philippe Coutinho started and played 68 minutes for Vasco da Gama, who triumphed 2-1 at home to Santos.
