Aston Villa completed the loan signing of Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain in February 2025.
The Spaniard arrived at Villa Park with a glittering CV from his time in the French capital and from his nine years as a Real Madrid player. A boyhood Madrid fan, Asensio signed for Los Blancos in 2014 and proceeded to win a plethora of titles, including three UEFA Champions Leagues, three La Ligas and four FIFA Club World Cups.
A domestic treble followed in his first season at PSG in 2023/24 after he made the switch to France at the end of his contract with Madrid.
Asensio has also starred on the international stage, winning an Olympic silver medal, a Nations League title and playing at two FIFA World Cups.
